Sydney-based EDIT is renowned for its colourful and painterly printed textiles which was conceived from a love of the Bloomsbury Group, The Omega Workshop and Charleston farmhouse.
.
EDIT’s textiles seek to evoke the spirit of The Omega Workshop which famously blurred the boundaries between fine art and design and draws inspiration from their influences which ranged from Cubism and Fauvism to Post-Impressionism.
.
Founded in 2007, from its outset EDIT harnessed innovative digital print technology as a way to capture the essence of The Omega Workshop by reproducing EDIT’s artists’ brushstrokes and spontaneity and translate it to textiles for the home of the 21st century.
.
Today, EDIT’s work is displayed around the world in hotels, resorts, restaurants, bars and homes.
.
EDIT’s textiles originally caught the attention of none other than visionary hotelier and designer Kit Kemp whose has introduced EDIT’s designs in the common hotel spaces as well as suites in her critically-acclaimed Firmdale Hotels in London and New York.
.
EDIT proudly features Kit Kemp’s books, including her latest work, Design Secrets, in a chapter entitled, ”How to create a Bloomsbury inspired interior”.
.
EDIT’s owner and director, Inge Holst, has an extensive background in interiors, fashion and costume design has been an integral part of EDIT since it launched under founder Sharyn Storrier Lyneham.
.
Inge continues to keenly collaborate with artists who embody the spirit and creativity of the Bloomsbury Group.
